Boat covers and prizes for pizza restaurant.
Congratulations to Quality Covers client Phillip Nicastro who has been announced as the winner of the 2009 Inner West Local Business Awards. Phillip’s restaurant “Otto Pezzi” is located in Tennyson Road Mortlake opposite the relatively new Breakfast Point development. No doubt the close proximity of “Otto Pezzi” to River Quays Marina and the boating industry inspired Phillip to choose a marine trimmer to add clears to his awnings. Clears provide the “Otto Pezzi” outdoor eating area with the same sort of protection from the elements that clears give to boats. We wish Phillip Nicastro another successful year of winter and summer trading with his “boat” covers.
Extreme weather conditions and your boat covers
The extreme weather conditions which caused such heavy flooding in Sydney on Friday night have done some damage to many boat covers.
The most efficient way to get these repairs done is to bring them to our workshop at the Sydney City Marine, next door to NSW Maritime under the Anzac Bridge. We will do everything we can to get your boat cover repairs done as quickly as possible so that your boat is protected and you can take advantage of the good weather to come.
A quick call to Chris on 0421 222 176 will get you into the schedule.
Your boat covers and other marine trimming needs this summer
The Quality Covers workshop has been operating around the clock over these past weeks to get our clients’ boat covers and other marine trimming needs finished in time for some quality boating during the festive season. Of course summer boating does not finish on the 12th day of Christmas and while Quality Covers will close for the festive season on Thursday 24th December we will open again for business on Monday 11th January.
In addition to starting the jobs which are already booked into the schedule Cam will start quoting again in January. This is a good time to be thinking about your boat cover and other marine trimming needs, including repairs, in time for the Easter break which in 2010 is in the first week of April.Get in early!
Meanwhile the team at Quality Covers wish our clients and their families and indeed “boaties” everywhere our best wishes for a safe and happy festive season.
Cleaning your boat covers and clears
The recent red dust storms which hit Sydney have many boat owners worried about the cleaning of their boat covers. Quality Covers recommends that you ask your boat detailer or local boat chandler about what products they would recommend for cleaning your boat covers and clears. Often you will be advised that a biodegradable general purpose cleaner can be used on boat covers provided that the cleaner is considerably diluted with fresh water. Whatever you use please ensure that you dry your boat covers thoroughly to avoid mildew. The Sunbrella website gives detailed information about the cleaning of boat covers made from its popular fabric range: www.sunbrella.com
Proper maintenance of your clears is essential or they will quickly lose their clarity. Clear PVC is soft and easily marked. Therefore make sure that any cleaning solution you use on your clears is non-abrasive and does not contain any bleach or phosphates. Rinsing is also important. You will find comprehensive instructions for the care and maintenance of clears on the Strataglass website: www.strataglass.com
